How To Recycle E-Waste

Our program provides 2-3 events for E-Waste collection each year! In partnership with the Tribe’s IT Department, the Coushatta Casino Resort, and CACRC, we accept electronic waste on behalf of tribal offices and tribal members. This service is of no charge to you! For tribal members, our team announces a week long collection event, allowing tribal members a more flexible schedule to drop off electronic waste or to schedule a pick up with us. Stay up to date with E-Waste Collection Days by checking our Events page.

Why recycle e-waste?

Recycling electronics helps reduce pollution that would be generated while manufacturing a new product while preserving additional valuable & limited virgin resources needed to make new products. Keeping e-waste out of landfills also reduces the risk of creating explosive conditions in landfills and the leaching of harmful chemicals contaminating other waste streams or mixing to generate toxic fumes.

What type of e-waste can we take?

We partner with CACRC (Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council) in Baton Rouge for electronic recycling pick ups from our community at no cost to the Tribe. However, there are limitations on what they can accept. Items that are not accepted by CACRC are brought to BestBuy. Please view the list below.
